There's a particular quality to a man who doesn't need to try. He enters quietly. He dresses with intention. He wears a fragrance the way he wears his posture, like it's always been there.
Suede & Stone is the result of chasing that quality in a bottle.
It opens in cashmere. Not a note, but a texture. That first exhale is warm and close, like the inside of a well-worn coat. There's an immediate softness that reads as ease, not weakness. Confidence, not cologne.
As the cashmere settles, vanilla rises. Not the confected sweetness of something made to impress, but a deeper warmth. Resinous. Real. The kind that feels like it was already there, not applied.
Beneath everything, musk anchors the composition to skin. Clean where it needs to be, intimate where it earns it. This is what keeps Suede & Stone close. Not a projection, but a presence. The scent of a person, not a product.
At hour eight, it's still there. Not loud. Just yours.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Most of our Eau de Parfums are formulated to last 6–10 hours on skin, though the honest answer is that it varies. Warm skin, oilier skin types, and pulse-point application all improve longevity - dry or cool skin tends to hold fragrance less readily.
Several of our formulas sit at 30% fragrance oil concentration - notably above the 15–20% typical of most commercial Eau De Parfums - which contributes to a deeper, longer-lasting character.
If longevity on your skin matters, we'd recommend starting with a 10ml before committing to a full bottle.
Yes — and we'd always suggest it.
We offer 10ml travel sizes across the full collection, or our Discovery Kit (5 × 2ml) is a popular way to explore the range before settling on a signature scent.
Fragrance is personal and can shift depending on your skin chemistry, so we'd rather you find the right one than rush into a bottle that doesn't feel like you.
Two things, primarily: concentration and ingredient quality.
Many high-street EDPs sit at 12–18% fragrance oil. Our formulas tend to sit higher, which means more depth, better longevity, and a closer-to-skin quality that reveals itself gradually rather than announcing everything at once.
We source raw materials from France, the Middle East, and Asia, and every fragrance is formulated and made in the UK.
They are original. Thomson Carter was built on the idea of creating genuinely distinctive, long-lasting scents - not recreating someone else's. Cashmere Court, for example, was developed in direct collaboration with artisanal perfumer Ilias Kakis, while Are You Vanilla? was developed with perfumer Stephanie Wilkinson.
If a scent reminds you of something you've worn before, that's the nature of shared fragrance families - but none of our fragrances are formulated to imitate an existing product.
If you're new to a particular scent, the 10ml is the natural entry point - same formula, same concentration, just a smaller bottle.
It typically delivers around 100–150 sprays: enough to confirm whether it's something you'll reach for regularly before moving to a 50ml or 100ml. If you already know you love a fragrance, the 100ml offers the best value per ml by some margin.
All our EDPs are composed in layers - top, heart, and base notes - which unfold in sequence.
The top notes you smell first are usually the brightest and most immediate, but they settle within 30–60 minutes. What follows is the heart and base of the fragrance: typically warmer, richer, and more personal, as it begins to interact with your skin chemistry.
This dry-down is often where a scent becomes truly your own. We'd suggest giving any new fragrance a couple of hours before forming a final opinion.
Pulse points - inner wrists, the base of the throat, behind the ears, the crook of the elbow - are your most effective spots. These areas generate warmth, which lifts and projects the fragrance throughout the day.
One thing worth knowing: avoid rubbing your wrists together after applying. It feels intuitive but it degrades the top notes and shortens wear time. A light mist on the chest or the back of the neck, before dressing, works particularly well - fabric holds scent longer than skin alone.
Yes - it's the same formula and the same concentration across all sizes. The only difference is volume.
There's a common misconception that travel sizes are a diluted version; that's not the case here. The 10ml is a fully accurate representation of the full-size experience.
Most of the collection is genuinely unisex - Santal Oud, Cashmere Court, Bois De Santal, Postcards From, Redroom, and the Are You Vanilla? range all wear comfortably across genders.
We indicate where a scent has a more directional character - Smoke & Mirrors sits firmly in a masculine register; Lilium Blume and Rouge Avenue lean feminine - but these are signposts, not rules.
Wear what resonates. If you're unsure where to start, the Fragrance Finder on the site is a useful guide, or reach out directly and we'll point you somewhere that suits your taste.
Yes. Every Thomson Carter Eau de Parfum is formulated using 100% vegan, cruelty-free fragrance oils. No animal-derived ingredients, no animal testing - at any stage of development or production.
We offer a 30-day return window. Unopened, undamaged products qualify for a full refund. Given how personal fragrance is, we'd always recommend starting with a sample or the 10ml first - it removes most of the risk before you commit to a larger size. If something arrives damaged or not as described, get in touch and we'll make it right.
Suede and Stone is warm, clean, and totally work-appropriate. It is reminiscent of a comforting memory, one that is guaranteed to warm the heart and possibly the soul. It is battling both Shelby Lane and Bois De Santal for top EDP status and tends to be grabbed daily.
I have a good chunk of the Thompson Carter scents. Suede and Stone is a fav I layer with Smoke and Mirrors. Its soft, clean, deep, magnetic and sophisticated without being overwhelming. I get compliments on that combination all the time.
Just received my Suede and Stone edp today! I love it!! A smooth, rich, long lasting mix of cashmere, vanilla, and musk.
A head turner for sure. Not heavy or strong, but definitely deep and addictive!! So happy I purchased this gem!! Great price point and excellent shipping to the USA.
I’m definitely a new fan of Thompson Carter!!
The Suede & Stone smells really good, and it lasts. To receive everything in the picture for the price was wonderful. One of the samples is Shelby Lane, which also smells exceptionally.
All the scents are amazing! I’ve been looking ever for a scent that my wife loves without breaking the bank and I’ve found it! They’re all long lasting and perform for a weekend trip to the farmers market or a Friday night out on the town. The scents make me feel more confident and ready to tackle anything.
I have 11 of the best fragrances. When I decided to purchase it was on a thought that there has to be something different.
It sure is. I tried the fragrance upon arrival and I was convinced on how powerful and bold of fragrances. I recieve compliments daily from men and women. My special lady, loves to smell it on me.
I have many of the best fragrances, but this will remain #1. Love it.....
1 of my 2ml samples I also received in the box I received first time was of the Suede & Stone. This certainly has got a distinctive strong & subtle note to it especially with the cashmere, vanilla & musk. I've worn this several time's already. Definitely another 1 to get again
I bought this specific cologne after smelling a sample I received when I bought the smoke and mirrors. I really liked and still like suede and stone better. I got a lot of compliments the first time I wore it. I've turned a lot of people onto the brand but not sure if they actually purchased or not but I'll likely be purchasing again in the future.
Great smell everyone has asked what I’m wearing and I’ve told them suede and stone and I promised they are gonna purchase for themselves boyfriends and husbands
I recently bought a perfume from Thomas Carter, and I’m really impressed. The fragrance smells amazing—it’s fresh, long-lasting, and has a premium feel without being overpowering. On top of that, the price is excellent for the quality you get. It’s definitely great value for money, and I’ll be purchasing from Thomas Carter again. Highly recommended! The packaging was excellent and beautifully designed.
Bought this for my husband for his birthday as he loved the tester.
Many good comments have ensued and we know where he is now, just by his gorgeous scent 😀
I've got Shelby Lane, Smoke and Mirrors, Santal Oud and Postcards From.
Smoke and Mirrors was my favourite but I think Suede and Stone tops it!
It smells fantastic and lasts forever.
Thomson Carter is my favourite brand for all mens cologne...I have so many from smoke and mirrors, suede
& stone and redroom...well worth buying and the scent lasts longer...worth buying
This has generally become my evening choice out of my favourite three (Suede and Stone, Smoke and Mirrors and Shelby Lane). It has a bit more of an “after work” vibe but retains the maturity of the Thomson Carter range. Definitely “not for boys” as this is a more sophisticated range than the standard choices out there. Comes with very clever little sample bottles that let you explore more of the range and adds to the addiction of purchasing more!
I have had several of the fragrances from Thomson Carter and really like Are you vanilla, but this Suede & Stone has become my new favourite. It does have vanilla in its fragrance, but a more subtle balance. It also seems longer lasting & I I have many compliments when wearing it.
I have bought numerous bottles of scents from Thomson Carter. I find the Suede and Stone on par with Smoke and Mirrors. They are lovely scents with longlasting fragrance. I have also bought Shelby Lane and both Are you Vanillas, which are also really nice. Please put the Suede and Stone on subscription so I can alternate with Smoke and Mirrors.
As a die hard fan of Smoke & Mirrors, I was anxious to try Suede & Stone.
It does not disappoint.......at all !
What I love about them both, is there is no question that these are masculine scents, with a subtle power that's never confused with the more " fruity" colognes out there.
They're both unapologetic statements for the man that is comfortable being what he is.
What I like about this its not run of the mill I have 3 different fragrances from Thomson Carter all 3 have their own unique fragrance & I would recommend all of them but suede & stone might just pip the other two to the post
